Feb 1, 2012 Positions for summer jobs 2012 now open! Update on March 7, 2012: All the positions in Finland are filled but the one in Australia is still open!!! Apply by sending email directly to Mikko Möttönen.
Dec 1, 2011 See our cool video! This video was made on the ERC project launching in the beginning of 2012.
Nov 15, 2011, OPEN POSITIONS! Many post doctoral and PhD student positions are open in the renewed COMP including our group. Positions are mainly directed towards theoretical and computational work but also excellent experimentalists and especially researchers with strong theoretical background and true interest also in experiments are encouraged to apply. The dead line for the positions is passed already but we are constantly looking for excellent physicists!

Brief description of QCD and its research
The group Quantum Computing and Devices (QCD) was formed in October 2007 in the Academy of Finland Center of Excellence in Computational Nanoscience (COMP) and has already produced many significant scientific results. In addition to the group leader, there are post doctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students in the group working together on various research topics. If one is to describe the research in the group with a single term, it would be quantum physics. That is because we are not restricted to a single subject but rather keep an open mind and explore the most interesting and promising pathways to reach maximal productivity in our research. Thus the research topics vary from the very fundamental theory of quantum mechanics to applied and even experimental physics. The different subfields in our research are quantum information processing, Bose-Einstein condensates, and nanoelectronics.
