Aalto University School of Science invites applications for Tenure Track Position In Experimental Condensed Matter Physics to be filled primarily at Assistant Professor level. Other levels may also be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications.

Tehtävään valittava sijoitetaan ensisijaisesti Assistant Professor -tasolle. Erityistapauksissa voidaan harkita myös muita Aalto-yliopiston professorien urajärjestelmän tasoja (Associate tai Full Professor).

PhD/post-doctoral positions in multiscale simulations

PhD/post-doctoral positions are available in the Surfaces and Interfaces at the Nanoscale (SIN) group led by Prof. Adam Foster at Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland.
The project focuses on addressing the challenges faced in simulations of real systems, including accurately modelling the influence of the ambient environment and temperature, as well as the deviations from ideality often seen in real materials. It involves aiding in the development of multiscale modelling approaches, coupling quantum simulations to atomistic and phenomenological schemes, allowing for the simulation of long timescales and large systems with high accuracy. The software development will be strongly linked to our ongoing efforts in studying solid-solid and solid-liquid interfaces, and molecular self-assembly.
Tohtorikoulutettavan ja tutkijatohtorin tehtävät oksidirajapintojen simuloinnissa
Aalto-yliopiston perustieteiden korkeakoulun teknillisen fysiikan laitoksen SIN-tutkimusryhmään (Surfaces and Interfaces at the Nanoscale) haetaan tohtorikoulutettavaa ja tutkijatohtoria. Tutkimustyön tavoitteena on kehittää monta mittakaava hyödyntäviä mallintamismenetelmiä ja kvanttisimulaatioiden yhdistämistä atomistisiin ja menetelmällisiin malleihin. Tutkimuksen toisena tavoitteena on myös kehittää elintarvikkeiden luomisessa käytettävää monta mittakaavaa hyödyntävää mallintamismenetelmää sekä kvanttisimulaation hajanaisia ja fenomenologisia järjestelmiä.
